Set of six pine dining room chairs designed by Göran Malmvall for Karl Andersson & Söner. Remarkable detail: the legs have been professionally extended by approximately 4 cm, bringing the seat height to 47 cm.

Göran Malmvall (1917–2001) was the youngest son of the production company's founder, Karl Andersson. He studied furniture design under Carl Malmsten and was involved in the family business from an early age until 1982, mainly in the capacity of in-house furniture designer. He was self-taught, a highly skilled furniture maker with considerable technical expertise.

The manufacturer, Karl Andersson & Söner, was founded in 1898, when carpenter Karl Andersson started producing "durable furniture" in his parents' house in the village of Berghem between Huskvarna and Gränna. More than a hundred years later, the historic company still produces quality and designer furniture in their own modern factory in Huskvarna.
